Joanne + Cleveland | Toronto Wedding Sneak Preview

Last weekend I shot a wedding that I’ve been waiting for, for what seemed like an eternity. My Sister in Law and her Fiance tied the knot and had the Photosapien shoot photos. I’m glad that they aloowed me to shoot and not treat me as a guest. I ALWAYS prefer to shoot family and friend’s weddings rather than be a guest. I’m in my element and that’s how I have fun. Weird I know but if you had Chef Ramsey as your second cousin twice removed and were having a dinner party, wouldn’t you ask him to cook? (minus the swearing)

Joanne and Cleveland who have been in front of my camera lens for their Save the Date Alter Ego photos and 2 Engagement shoots are on a sunny island right now so I’ll hold off on the full post but show you a few sneak preview photos.
Stay tuned!

Vacation Sweet Vacation

Grand Cayman. I was in the Grand Cayman Islands.
An amazingly beautiful island. My family and I were able to enjoy the hot sun, the cool breeze and the freedom that getting away gives.
No cell phones, no work, no hassles. Just food and fun.  This was a good time to take a break before the 2012 wedding photography season gets busy again.

We took daily beach walks. Swam in the clear blue water. Visited the Turtle Farm and most importantly the local Burger King. How I miss thee. The only BK in my hood at home is in the movie theatre and they are only open during movie showings and charge close to $93 for a Whopper with cheese. Forget it.

Another beautiful thing about vacation can be summed up in 4 wonderful letters:
E-S-P-N.
Yep, I live in Canada so we and not treated to the brilliance and sports excellence that is the Entertainment and Sports Programming Network.

Back to the vacation.

Sometimes you REALLY forget the importance of rest, relaxation and family time.  This trip definitely recharged me and I know my Wife loved kicking her feet up and reading whatever the 15 novels she has on her Sony tablet.

The kiddies went to a story book reading, ran through water fountains, chased chickens, petted turtles, watched sharks get fed, cruised the beach in a water raft, filmed videos with my camcorder and swam like fish! Phew. And they could have kept going!  Their parents, could barely keep up.  It’s like being tied to a horse that’s running at full speed. Be prepared to get dragged.

Thanks to the condo owners who allowed us to use their beautiful space to recharge for the week.

Grand Cayman, you will definitely see the Isaac family again.  Up next, Hawaii? Disney Cruise? Africa? Who knows.

Get Away 2

Another few days have gone by without a post because I was simply too busy vacationing to post, but not too busy to shoot.

The family and I went into town here and walked, ate and took in some sites.  By the end of it all, we were all pretty exhausted.  I’ll post more photos soon. For now, here’s a giant anchor.

Today’s vacation location post hints: If you recognize the anchor in this photo, it’s because you’ve visited this country on a cruise day stop.  And, the downtown city of this country is the same name as the University that has a Hoya Bulldog as their mascot.

Get Away

Sometimes you just need a break from life right?
The kids, the family, the job. I needed a break more than I thought but I brought those three things with me!
I last went away without the kiddies so they tagged along this time. I love to vacay with my Wife so she had to come. And well, I at times find some photography projects to do while away.
What I did leave home was the stresses of the rest of life.
For the first time ever, I am living through a 30 hour headache. Oh Advil please start working.
Anyway, the 2nd day here is great. Lots of fun for the kids, hot sun for me, and well deserved rest for the Wife.
I don’t know if I will get a good shot of the Sunrise as I like to do but, I took my first photos of the sunset.
Enjoy and maybe next post, I’ll tell you where I the Photosapien is hiding. Hint: 1676 Kms from Toronto.

Steve + Jillian Engagement | Aurora Ontario

Reason #2394 why I love photography is that I get to not only meet many people and capture special moments in their lives but also making new friends.  This is the case with Steve.  We met not too long ago and both have a real love for photography.

Steve and I talk at length about equipment, trends, and then he mentioned that he’s getting married. Wicked.  So he hired the Photosapien to shoot his wedding.

Steve told me Jillian is a little shy in front of the camera so I was glad when they agreed to do an engagement session.  It’s the best way for everyone involved to get comfortable before the wedding day.  Although I think Steve and I will be friends after the wedding, I think he was lying to me about Jillian’s shyness. She was an absolute rockstar on this day! She posed, followed directions, looked great and braved the cold!

I cannot wait for their big day.
